BMW X1 LWB Launched At Rs. 49.90 Lakh, Here’s Everything You Need To Know

BMW has launched BMW X1 LWB to its Indian lineup with an introductory price of Rs. 49.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The stretched version of the entry-level luxury SUV is built locally at BMW Group’s Chennai plant and comes only with petrol engine.

The main difference from the standard X1 is at the back. X1 LWB  has got wheelbase of 108 mm which gives enough space for rear passengers. The BMW X1 LWB is 4616 mm in length, 2104 mm in width and 1,641 mm in height. BMW X1 LWB has 2800 mm wheelbase. Rear legroom has been increased by 150 mm also the leg room has increased by 109 mm. The rear seat cushion is also 15 mm longer. Passengers has an option to recline rear backrests by up to 28.5 degrees.

The SUV comes with BMW’s curved widescreen display and OS 9. It also features the latest BMW iDrive system with QuickSelect and BMW Maps. Other highlights include wireless smartphone charging, a 12-speaker 205W Harman Kardon sound system and a 9 sq ft panoramic sunroof. BMW claims it is the largest in its segment. BMW X1 LWB has boot space of 540 litres and can be expanded to 1700 litres with the rear seats folded.

BMW X1 LWB has 1.5 litre three cylinder turbo petrol engine that generates 156 hp and 230 Nm between 1500 and 4600 rpm. A seven speed Steptronic dual clutch automatic sends power to the front wheels. BMW claims a fuel efficiency of 15.5 kmpl. The SUV also gets a 50:50 weight distribution and suspension tuned specifically for the model.

On the outside the BMW X1 LWB follows BMW’s latest X1 styling. The new SUV gets the BMW signature kidney grille along with adaptive LED headlights and LED tail lamps. Satin aluminium roof rails, flush-fitting door handles and 18-inch M light-alloy wheels complete the look. The Adaptive LED setup also includes cornering functionality and High Beam Assistant.

BMW X1 LWB comes with 5 different color including Night Dusk Blue, Skyscraper Grey, Carbon Black and Mineral White exterior shades. Inside the SUV is offered with Veganza perforated upholstery in Castanea or a dual tone Smoke White and Atlas Grey finish.

BMW X1 LWB gets digital key plus that allows a compatible smartphone or smartwatch to work as the vehicle key. Comfort Access 2.0 can detect the device and unlock the SUV without needing to touch the door handle. The digital key can also be shared with up to 18 users. Other connected features include remote software upgrades the MyBMW App.

It has got strong safety equipment such as- eight airbags, ABS, Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control, Dynamic Traction Control and Cornering Brake Control. The BMW X1 LWB also gets Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Assistant, Cruise Control with Braking Function, Automatic Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Protection and Attentiveness Assistant.
